The UFC fighter Bryce Mitchell used social media to start a new fight with lightweight champion Ilia Topuria by accusing him of being a wife-beater through unproven domestic violence charges. Mitchell wore a tank top that he called the wife beater special to show their previous fight at UFC 282, which Topuria used to make fun of him by wearing overalls until he began insulting Mitchell directly.
Bryce Mitchell condemned Topuria because Mitchell claimed Topuria had committed violence against a woman, which he identified as dangerous behavior that “will get you killed around these parts,” while calling Topuria a coward who doesn’t deserve to see his children.

Mitchell’s Religious Callout and Topuria’s Denial
Mitchell used his religious beliefs to challenge Topuria while Topuria rejected his challenge. Mitchell described his personal experience of growing up fatherless as better than having a father who abused his mother while he called Topuria to confess his sins and return to Jesus Christ and get help for his drinking problem. Topuria makes a joke about his personal life by stating that husbands should treat wives as championship belts which they should collect. Topuria has denied the allegations from his ex-wife because he claims they are false and part of an extortion attempt while he steps away from fighting to handle the legal matter. The situation remains ongoing because the allegations against him have not yet been established as true.
